|
|
|
|
Three quilters’ groups will have a quilt show at La Conner Quilt &
Textile Museum(
http://www.laconnerquilts.com/) in the U.S.A. this summer. One is a
group from Miwako Kimura, the leader of the tour to U.S., one is
Sachiko Yoshida’s group, and the other is Noriko Koyama’s group. The
members will go to La Conner, Washington to join the opening of the
quilt show 6/22-29.
The tour to La Conner and having a quilt show is held every two years.
Because of the effort of the staff and the board members of the museum
and Atsuko Shimozato who lives near the museum, the quilt show is
sucsessful every time.

JAPANESE QUILT CLASS
|
|
|
Some quilt teachers from the members will have Japanese quilt classes
at the Museum.
Noriko, the leader of Quilt Studio Nunozaiku, will have a class of
Firefly-inspired tote bag or wall hanging, 12” x 12”. This project is
based on Drifting Lights, a quilt by Noriko, displayed in the museum.
The quilt expressed that countless fireflies drifting in the twilight
that they are subtle and profound and beautiful.
Students learn how to express the perspective using Japanese kimono
silk and linen.
